Excellent Civil War Era Collection: 1861 Cartridge and Percussion Cap Boxes, Original Buckshot Cartridge, Crossed Cannons Insignia and More. Outstanding Civil War collection for collectors of every level as there are rare pieces here. 1.) Model 1861 cartridge box without tin inserts or US plate. Only moderate crazing and leather still somewhat supple. Round manufacturer's mark on lower left side of top flap but impression too faint to read. Still a fined Civil War relic with all buckles and straps intact. 2.) Percussion box with outer flap marking a bit faint "R.H. White/ U.S. Ord. Dept/ Sub-Inspector." Inner flap maker mark: "S.H. Young/ & Co/ Newark/ N.J." Overall in very good condition with some flaking of the polished leather, but clean, stitching, loops and finial intact. 3.) Intact U.S. Army buckshot musket cartridge (58 Springfield?) in superb condition. 4.) Civil War "Crossed Cannons" insignia. Worn on the cap of members in the Federal Army’s ‘long arm’, this Civil War specimen is in strong, very good condition. The one-piece insignia specimen measures 3 1/8" long and is 1¾" high. 5.) Three Civil War era bullets all excavated and one still with cartridge. 6.) Civil War era tin-type of young man in ragged uniform coat and shirt. 7.) Scarce "New York Day" 30th Anniversary Battle of Gettysburg commemoration ribbon, July 1,2,3, 1893 and is in excellent condition! 8.) Last item is a cloth tag completed by a Samuel E. Davis of 453 King Street, Pottstown, Pennsylvania to be carried in pocket while attending The Gettysburg Reunion with a contact to notify in case of accident or illness. Likely this was for the 1913 Gettysburg Reunion in Adams County, PA. attended by a staggering 53,000 veterans of the war. Due to their advanced age, this tag was very important. In fact, Mr. Davis indicates he is 67 years in age, 5'5" and 145 pounds. More interesting, searching his street address, it appears his home is still standing. Another scarce piece.

Some great items here worth taking a closer look. Estimated Value $600 - UP
